Movie Research (The Hangover)

Image
I chose the movie "The Hangover" for several reasons. Firstly, its unique and comedic premise caught my attention. The idea of a wild bachelor party in Las Vegas gone wrong, with the characters waking up with no memory of the previous night, promised a hilarious and unpredictable storyline. Secondly, the film boasted a talented ensemble cast, including Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis, known for their comedic prowess.   Narrative Structure :  I appreciated "The Hangover" for its unconventional narrative structure, using a nonlinear timeline to unravel the events of the bachelor party. This non-traditional storytelling kept the audience engaged and  intrigued. The  dynamic between the main characters added a layer of humor and camaraderie. The contrasting personalities of Phil, Stu, and Alan contributed to the comedic tension and memorable moments throughout the film.   While "The Hangover" is widely acclaimed, there are aspects that might

Movie Research (ELF)

The movie elf suits the comedy genre because of its unique and funny depiction that evolves a human baby living the life of an elf and believing it until told otherwise. The movie includes both verbal and physical comedic conventions that make the movie fit the comedy genre. The movie is about a human baby that sneaks into the NorthPole and is raised as an elf and his father is an obsessed with work husband who is on the naughty list, and as buddy the elf learns how to be a human and meet his dad, he develops the characters in the movie and entertaining the audience by being funny.  The Movie used conventions such as a narration that I liked and want to use in my movie. The narrator was both funny and informational and was great at foreshadowing. I also really enjoy the editing of the movie, which was shown when Buddy and his brother where ambushed in a park by Snowballs and comedic editing come in when he rapidly makes 100 snowballs and throws them all very fast. By adding in editin

Movie Research (Home Alone)

Movie Research "Home Alone 1" suits the comedy genre with its arsenal of physical comedy, misunderstandings, and family dynamics. It's a wild ride of a kid facing off against burglars during the holiday season. The film dives deep into the chaos of misadventures and the importance of family bonds, fitting snugly into the comedy genre. Liked Genre Conventions in "Home Alone 1": The inventive pranks that Kevin pulls off are pure gold, adding a hilarious touch to the film. The Christmas setting gives off cozy vibes and enhances the comedic elements, making it a festive treat. Beyond the laughs, the movie weaves in a valuable lesson about family, adding a heartwarming layer to the genre conventions. Disliked Genre Conventions in "Home Alone 1": While the pranks were epic, some scenarios seemed a bit far-fetched, like a kid being left alone without anyone noticing. The burglars' exaggerated, stereotypical portrayal felt a tad overdone. Also, character

Genre Research: Good Burger 2 - This movie follows many of the common conventions found in comedy movies. For example, exaggerated situations, relatable characters, and a positive resolution. - I liked the sarcasm and dark humor used in the movie. - I wouldn't say I didn't like any of the conventions used. Although there was an overuse of puns.

Genre Research (Horror)

Horror   Hello Blog! Today we are researching about the horror genre. The horror genre mainly use POV shots, handheld angles, Dutch angles, tracking shots, and extreme close ups. Horror genre likes the mis-en-scene to be in dark, rural, deserted locations that are isolated and mainly abandoned. It also uses all types of weapons, mainly hand held weapons that are not projectiles, as well as having certain super natural features. These features can be graveyards, haunted houses, or even isolated castles.     Horror uses lots of special effects, shot placements, and transitions, which can be cutting or just regular fade in. For sound, it uses mainly stringed instruments, but also use breathing, synthesizers, monsters vocals, footsteps, ghost sounds, stabbing, slashing, or any flesh wound sounds. Insidious and Annabelle are examples of horror genre movies. I like the appeal and fright of horror, it brings a rush of adrenaline. I do not like how horror can get repetitive.

My Pitch Blog

Image
Pitch A: Group of high school friends decide to play a game before they go to college but it doesn’t turn out how they thought it would. Pitch B: Three High School boys have a sleepover while their parents are out of town, but things go south when they find their parents stash of alcohol. Pitch A Explanation: For this movie we would have to use various gory props and also create a suspenseful mood throughout. Pitch B Explanation: For this movie we would use the influence of alcohol to create funny moments. Final Decision: Our group has decided to go with pitch B. We chose this pitch because we can film all our scenes at one of our houses and it won't involve background help.

My Group for the Movie Project

Image
My group will consist of myself and my good friends Alex and Nathanial. I chose to do this project with them because we have a productive friendship. I feel working with Alex and Nathanial will make the project have a good turnout. Both of my group mates have experience filming and editing.  The maximum amount of people allowed to work together was 4. But due to lack of having anyone else that wanted to be in our group, it will just be us.  But we all agree that we can make this whole project work out correctly. We also believe we will have very good results.  I choose to work with them because they are my friends but also because they are both hard working individuals. When focused they can pick up lose slack if any and make a good final product.  I also chose them to be in my group because we all know each other and because of this it would make it easier to get through a communication block.  If we did not know each other then we would not be able to bond. This would create awkwar

Introduction to Movie Project

Welcome to my first blog post. My name is Alex Nordyke. I don't particularly like writing about my self but I need a good grade in this class. I like to go to the gym. I feel the gym is very important for youth. It can help improve mental and physical health. I also enjoy boating and various water sports. I've always had good balance so board sports come naturally to me. I wouldn't go as far to say that I'm an "adrenaline junkie," but I do like doing things that put me outside of my comfort zone. I've recently learned how to do flips in to water and from various heights. Whenever I'm with my friends I always teach them what I learn and we progress together. I also don't like school. I've always felt school is a waste of time in terms of the material we are learning. Although there are some exceptions. I don't predict that this will change though. In terms of learning social skills though, school is great. I feel that the social impact
